New Students
Mesa Community College class
Are you new to Yoga? Welcome, and don't be shy! Everyone was new to yoga at one time. Let your teacher know it's your first class, and she/he will guide you. You'll find a new exhilaration in the balancing poses, and a deep relaxation in Savasana. Listen to your teacher, with an ear in your heart and you will find your way.

Guide for New Students
- Arrive 5-10 minutes early.
- Practice on an empty stomach. Do not eat 1-2 hours prior to yoga practice. Drink plenty of water prior to and after class.
- Dress appropriately. Wear comfortable, form-fitting workout clothing. Layers help to adjust for temperature changes during and after class.
- Remove your shoes before entering the studio.
- Turn off your cell phone.
- Refrain from using perfumes, or heavily scented lotions.
- Notify your teacher of injuries or medical conditions so your teacher will know how to assist you and give you modifications.
- Mesa Community College classes provide everything you need for class including mats, blocks, straps, etc. You'll need your own yoga mat for most other locations, including Val Vista Village.
- It's not awful to be late for class (traffic around the valley can be tough) and any teacher would want you to attend class and practice yoga! If you are late, please quietly enter the class and gently close the door behind you.
- Mesa Community College offers a limited number of lockers (bring your own lock) as well as cubbies and shelving for you to leave belongings.
